    • He is up for a mystery and a challenge. He isn’t terrified or bothered by the horrors that he sees. He’s very brave. He goes through big changes and is excited about them.
All things I, and other SJs, just are not.

      • I see. I always saw him as some sort of ISFJ (?)… I kept thinking that his whole rationale is based on his obsession, no, love for Victorique and that’s the only reason for him to be ‘adventurous’. Besides, aren’t SP’s stereotypically the bravest? 🙂

        Like

      • He is action-oriented like an extrovert. He’s speaks and moves before he thinks. He is interested in the human element of things. I just see him breaking free of tradition and forging his own path like an intuitive.
I definitely don’t think SPs are the bravest. Sensors, especially ISFJs have always been ranked as the most paranoid and fearful. I’m ESFJ, so I totally agree. 😉 SPs act on impulse and reflex and crave sensation. This doesn’t naturally equate with bravery. Intuitives stereotypically are the ones who break the status quo and crave new adventure and experience, and they can put quite a bit of thought into why they do what they do. Especially when it comes to travel and meeting new people and being in a different culture, like Kujou is in – the ENFJs excel at this. My mom is ENFJ, and she’s definitely the female version of him. 😀

    • Thanks for coming by and commenting! I totally need to put this list in a better CCS table or something. Right now WordPress isn’t doing a good job of ordering the pictures nicely. I plan to get on that soon. 🙂

    • Thanks so much. For some reason, it was ignoring the J. I think I had it hidden in code. So I added it back again, and then it started recognizing the first J again. WordPress really isn’t my favorite for this kind of thing. 😛

  2. Thanks so much! This was so fun for my sons and me. The boys love anime and have introduced it to my husband and me. My 14-year-old introduced us to the 16 personalities a month or two ago. So, this really was interesting to see. We just finished RWBY this week. So, seeing Blake in my personality was intriguing. Then I thought of her semblance. That is so me!

    • I’m so glad!

I just watched RWBY again for the second time, in preparation to see season 3, and I really think I need to change Yang to an ESFP though. She’s so people-oriented and nurturing in her Se-ness. So I apologize for having an error! But thank you so much for stopping by!

INFPs are very strange people to me. I haven’t quite figured them out. 😛 But maybe you guys don’t want to be figured out! *wink*

      • You’re right about Yang; however, I felt there may be some personality change happening due to the last episode. We’ll see in season 3.

As for understanding INFPs, we’ll do whatever it takes to keep the peace. We’re quiet, but can notice when others aren’t doing well. I’ll make friends but usually it’s on the outskirts of a crowd not in the middle. Since we only make up 4% of the population, and two of us live in my house, it’s possible you won’t meet a lot of us. 😃

      • I’ve definitely known 10x more INFJs than INFPs! 🙂

I wrote a novel about an INFP and ESFJ relationship. Really stretched me and grew my mind. Took me two years to write it, and I even stopped in the middle!

      • I’m just learning all the different names. I knew them under a four trait system, but I can imagine there being a whole lot less of us around.

The writing would have stretched you. Your blog inspired me to try creating characters that are opposites and throwing them together and making them work together. We’ll see how it goes. It may be a short story or it may grow to something bigger.

      • Oooo, excellent! Keep me posted!

Yeah, at first he was supposed to be an ESTP. But, in his situation, he was so unlovable, I got pretty negative feedback. I changed his personality entirely and it worked! (I had figured out a scenario that I wanted a guy to go through, and designed a plot around it. Then I had like two options for what type of person would have done what he did. One worked better than the other. Not sure that makes sense, but… 😛 )

        Here’s the book if you’re interested: https://www.amazon.com/Heartsick-RJ-Conte-ebook/dp/B01ASC83L2?ie=UTF8&qid=1463950922&ref_=la_B00MDY4T0S_1_4&s=books&sr=1-4

      • Pardon the intrusion. ^^

I saw the mystery INFPs bring with them and I couldn’t help but want to leave my thoughts on this category and see if my analysis of this type can shed some more light when added to your own.

As far as logical thinking goes I(=introvert), N(=intuition), F(=feeling) & P(=prospecting). The biggest abscence in their comfortable and natural way of being is to be logical. A mind that drives on complete freedom and opportunity or momentum. A mind that constantly looks forward to what it ‘could’ become and not ‘is’. To figure out someone who claims to be INFP, is as far as I can gather the exact proof that the person isn’t an INFP’er. I think most INFP’ers haven’t even figured out themselves, exactly because they’re always driven to be even better persons then they were before. They don’t do ‘accepting’ flaws. They seem to adjust constantly like chameleon’s to the environment and become the person they need to be at that time & in that place.

That’s how far they go. “I don’t need to be the perfect person, I’ll become that person” seems like their slogan. Being flexible, having your option open, willing to change for the better, they are willing to grow, instead of proving that they are already or aren’t for that matter.

They yearn to suprise you and be exactly that what you need them to be at the moment you call upon them for help.

How’s that for an analysis and how much goes along with your own view? ^_^

      • Nothing to do with Oumae.

I read that you hadn’t quite figured INFP’ers out yet, so it made me start thinking as well.

I’ve done the same 16-personality test several times and my result is either INFP or ENFP. Seems that depending on my mood or new insights I tend to switch inbetween introvert & extravert.

Besides that when I read people’s thoughts about INFP’ers or INFP’ers sharing their thoughts themselves, I can’t seem to feel my character aligns with my fellow INFP’ers.

Only conclusion I could make is that our character is greatly influenced by our environment as well, since we’re so susceptible to change & open for it. We take in the environment like a sponge it seems, that flexibility allows for a fairly broad spectrum of INFP’ers to emerge, all unique in their own way.

When it comes to logic/realist-types, i’m inclined to think that it’s harder to have a broad spectrum off characteristics who are all very different and because off that a little bit more easy to figure, since they follow certain patterns or rules.

        Like

      • No, I’m familiar with all 16 MB types. Even have a main character in a novel who’s an INFP. 🙂 So good to meet another one! (Although a low introvert, which is a nice balance, I think.)

That’s interesting about the chameleon effect. Thank you for educating me even more! I appreciate it!

  3. Good list. I think Risa Koizumi is an ESFP and Otani is an ESTP rather than ESFJ and ESTJ and Ami Kawashima strikes me as an ESFJ, but I’m not sure about her. What do you think?

    Like

    • The thing about ESFPs are that they are chill and cool and collected. Risa Koizumi is a worrywart and a mess most of the manga and anime. 😉 Plus, as an ESFJ myself, she was like a soul sister. She does absolutely everything I’d do in that situation – except go for an ESTJ in the first place. Se, is, on the whole, more flirtatious, friendly, and charming. Otani is stubborn, uninterested in romance, and stiff-necked. He seems classic STJ to me. They speak like very dominant Js and definitely demand quite a bit of each other. Neither of them have the free, easy, adventurous spirit of an Se. 🙂

Ami is too in-your-face and utterly bossy. I couldn’t stand her as a character because I didn’t see any Fe. She just wants to be right and in charge. 😉

      Like

    • Neither of them are action-oriented in the least. Both are apathetic, actually lazy, and downright cynical. Oreki, especially, holds to a very relaxed P way of thinking and life – trying to get away with doing nothing. Neither are interested in investing in any of their natural potential. Both want to squeak by with doing very little until they’re forced to by girls who want them to actually use their deductive brains. This doesn’t say J in the least. Both highly use Ti to solve problems mentally.

  5. This was a pretty intriguing thought, categorizing characters based on Myers-Briggs’s 16 personalities.

What were your thoughts on Kumiko Oumae? Because she strikes me more as the diplomatic type, more specifically as a fellow ENFP’er or even INFP, rather then a ISTP-type.

Recent 2nd season has her mediating inbetween many relationships out of some sort of urge to do good and save what is there to be saved. I really think ISTP sells her character short, when it comes to her overall character. But I don’t know your analogy, so I was curious.

    Like

    • I will definitely admit that I have not seen the second season yet. In the first season, she seemed to be a bit of a flat character who was bent to the will of her much stranger, quirkier, and passionate INFJ new friend. Could be she had no room to shine. Or could be they totally changed her for the second season. I’d definitely acquiesce to someone who had seen the second season.

Do you recommend it? Or does it have more weird girl-on-girl innuendo? I disliked their interactions in the first season, and was hesitant about watching the second.

      Like

      • Well. To be fair… ^_^

Season 1 had a lot more excitement to it for me personally.
Let me try and explain it step by step, before I say unecessary stuff about it. 🙂

Season 1 had one goal and it focused more on the ensemble of musicians and from time to time their individual reaction or thoughts about the big event coming closer.

Season 2 is all over the place. The main goal would be giving the third years a proper farewell. It’s a head-on sentimental/drama-version. Oumae is the one taking matters in her own hands to prevent as many regrets of her own, as well as the regrets off her senpai’s.

Season 1 was more coherent. Season 2 has less Oumae/trumpet-girl moments and sheds some light on some other characters, giving them more depth. The bad thing about season 2 is that the music comes on second place and is more a tool for Oumae to hear rumors or confront her senpai.

It’s definitily worth it, but season 2 gets a bit long-winded with times. Still if you want to see our Oumae getting a bit more depth, give it watch. 🙂

        *breathes in & out*

        Like

    • Okay Wout, after having seen the second season, I can say, without a doubt, that Oumae is ISTP. She is as apathetically passive as she was the first season. Her feelings are all hidden deep inside, and vice-president of the band club has to call her out on that very fact. She’s as cool as a cucumber on the outside, and would rather show no one the fact that she’s watching and cares. It’s so Se it reeks of it. 😛 I have an ISTP sister. They are identical. 😀

  6. Definitely agree with you on Ririchiyo from Inu x Boku SS being an INFJ. (This is the first list I’ve seen her typed as INFJ online) I’m an INFJ and I related to her sooo much in the anime and the manga. 🙂 I think Soushi is a type with Fe as his first or second function… I think maybe ISFJ, INFJ, or ENFJ. He seems “deeper” in the books, which makes me think he could possibly be ENFJ or INFJ, not completely sure though. He’s hard to figure out… and also unhealthy, whatever type he is. 😛

    Like

    • Thank you! Yeah, I think it’s always weird seeing a kuudere INFJ. People expect INFJs to be derederes and always so sweet, but Ririchiyo is almost a tsundere, her cold side is so strong.

I have many close INFJ friends, and they are such good, warm, tender writers. Get them in person and they can be almost stoic though! 😛

      Like

      • I don’t know if you’re still replying to comments on this article or not, but why do you say that Ririchiyo is an INFJ?

        Like

      • She reminds me of the classic downtrodden kuudere who seems cold but is super sweet in writing. I’ve known multiple INFJs like this. 🙂 She has a sweet Fe shy heart on the inside.

  7. What type do you think Kengo from Little Busters! is😃? I think he’s an INFP, though through most of the series he’s in a Fi-Si loop, and almost seems like an ISTJ. I’m bored so I’m going to explain my reasoning (^-^) * spoiler alert*
Fi: He’s sensitive, stubborn and a crybaby. He has incredibly strong, personal feelings and he’ll do anything to protect his loved ones. He’s morally opposed to what Kyousuke’s doing, so he just doesn’t participate.
Ne: He’s an idealist. He finds it hard to accept this situation and rejects it. He just wishes everything could be perfect and happy again like it was in the past ( Ne-Si). Also, when he’s himself, he’s goofy, naive, childlike, and energetic, which are common Ne traits :).
Si: He’s very traditional, resistant to change and doesn’t want to move on.He wants to keep playing together like they did in the good ol’ days. His Si is quite unhealthy😨.
Te: He has unhealthy Te in that he can be very harsh and aggressive.

    • Good thoughts! I think it’s dangerous, though, to type a character by their tertiary-auxiliary types. Since they’re a 2D character, what you’re seeing is probably what is there. I would say definitely ISTJ or INTJ for the reasons you described. 🙂

  9. Why did you put Yuki as an INTP ? He never seemed like a Ti-Ne person.
On the other hand why did you put Rumi Yokoi as an ISTJ ? She seemed like a Ti and Ne user in the way she relates to Seki’s shenanigans.

    Like

    • Rumi is very interested in following the rules. She looks down on Seki-kun and is perpetually miffed that he’s goofing off. She is straight-laced and dramatic about his shenanigans. She didn’t “get” him in a light-hearted Ne-happy sort of way. She was quite bossy in all of her thoughts, even if she was secretly interested. She was also highly observant of what was going on, paying attention to everything he was doing, unable to tune him out. As an SJ myself, this would’ve been me as a child.

For Yuki, he was passive, laid back, and gentle. But I should see Fruits Basket again to double check. That was the first one I added, and watched many years ago. 🙂

  10. The show is about a young adventurer who nearly gets killed in a dungeon only to be saved by a girl who he ends up falling love with. Throughout the show he tries to become stronger so that he will be able to stand by her side. It’s fairly good if you’re into lighthearted anime and is reminiscent of Sword Art Online.

  11. Alright tell me what you think of his personality type after you watch the show. Great list by the way a lot of it seems accurate.

  12. I was curious as to why you thought Kenya Kobayashi is an INFJ because he seem more like a INTJ in my opinion. Also in the previous comment someone was talking about Danmachi and I wanted to know what the main character from that show is too. Do you know?

    Like

    • It’s hard to say for sure, but he seemed so other-worldly in tune with his friends, and interested very heavily in the human element and relationships, like an Fe would.
I haven’t seen Danmachi yet. What do you think?

      Like

  13. I’m honestly not too sure what he is myself since I don’t know much about MBTI. I know he is an introvert and a feeler for sure though.

    Like

    • Ah, nice!
I’m ESFJ and my husband is INTP. INFJs feel like the perfect combination between us. They’re quiet and deep, but so loyal and focused. They don’t do anything flippantly, have such big imaginations, and such passionate feelings. I have almost always had INFJ best friends, and my 4 yr old daughter is INFJ. I feel drawn to them. 🙂

      Like

    • Good question. Because we don’t see enough of her – especially her everyday life, I didn’t add her to the list because I couldn’t be sure. Personally, I was hoping she’d turn out to be ESFJ. 😀

  14. Johan liebert (Monster)- INFJ, wouldn’t you agree?
I understand that this is your list but may I ask why there is not even even a single character from Monster?

  15. This was really amazing! I’m an ANTP (A for ambivert). After reading this, I found that most of my personal favourite characters are all INTP’s and ENTP’s, which is super cool. L Lawliett, Oreki Hotarou & Hashida Itaru from the introverts. Okabe Rintarou, Natsume Kyousuke & Tainaka Ritsu from the extroverts.

    Like

  16. Hi, just saw Mikorin in there and I was wondering what made you conclude that Mikorin was an ENFP? Honestly he always struck me as a Fe user (maybe even Si-Fe one bc he often acts accodentally and then regrets it based on how he thinks people percieve him)
