Hello everyone!  We’ve got a giveaway!!

I’m jumping with excitement this afternoon to introduce you to my new, dear friend!  Melanie Snitker is a fellow homeschool mom, Texan, and author of sweet love stories.  She has been an encouragement to me as a Christian friend, and helped me with my novels.  I’ve had the privilege to help her with hers, as well!

Welcome to Melanie’s readers too!

To introduce myself, I’m RJ Conte, writer of realistic, issue-driven fiction and unique, psychological love stories.  You can find my stories on Amazon here – including Lucent Sylph for free!  I have two fairy-tale retellings and romantic suspenses coming out with Clean Reads Press in the spring, so watch for those!  I’m excited to meet Melanie’s readers, and hope we can all be friends.  😀

This is Melanie’s book, Finding Courage.

It’s one I gave feedback on and helped beta read, so I’m rather partial to it.  I sure love the story, and it made me a lover of romaine lettuce forever.  😀

It takes courage to ask for a second chance…even more to extend one.

For Duke and Avalon McNeil, it was love at first sight. Married within months of meeting, their feet hardly touched the ground until the reality of their haste hit home with startling clarity.

Duke’s heart shattered when Avalon vanished for nearly three weeks, fleeing their arguments and misunderstandings. Now she’s back. He’s happy she’s home and safe, but he isn’t ready to risk everything again when their bond was so easily broken.

Avalon’s relieved to be home. She’s desperate to make peace between them, but returns with a secret. She can’t reveal anything to Duke until she proves to him she came back to restore their relationship.

As outside pressure continues to threaten Duke and Avalon’s fragile foundation, they must find the strength to prove to each other their marriage is worth fighting for.

Here’s my Amazon review of this book!  🙂

If you haven’t read “Finding Courage,” I must warn of SPOILERS.

At the end of Finding Courage, we discover that Duke and Avalon are expecting a baby girl. What Melanie didn’t reveal was the baby’s name. That’s because she hadn’t decided on one yet and needs your help!  🙂

She’d enjoy getting some name suggestions from you all and one lucky winner will receive a fun prize.  Comment below!

Please suggest a name for this sweet baby girl – first and middle – and if your name is 51mZJbDr52L._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_.jpgchosen, you’ll see it included in the next Love’s Compass book: Finding Faith.

Contest is closed on the 22nd of January, and the winner announced on the 24th.  🙂  The winner will be announced here and on Melanie’s blog.

The winner will receive a $20.00 Amazon gift card. In addition, you’ll also receive a copy of Heartsick by RJ Conte and Finding Faith by Melanie D. Snitker after their release in February.

(At the end of the giveaway, feel free to pre-order both books, by clicking their links above, if you didn’t win!)

2D(1)Blessing Spivey didn’t expect to cause such an uproar on her first day at college.

She’s a missionary kid, outgoing and eager to achieve her dreams, and when she leaves behind the harder life of Mexico and arrives at her small Bible college, all she wants is to obtain a teaching degree – and maybe a man as well.

But she’s barely set foot on campus before a shadow looms over her. She is told she’s an exact doppelganger for Tessa Lyme, the popular school sweetheart who shocked the college last semester with her unexpected suicide. And now Tessa’s mysterious ex-boyfriend, Shale Westin, seems to have it out for Blessing.

Despite Shale’s hostility, Blessing is irresistibly drawn to him, and to the strange story of his girlfriend’s death. What secrets did Tessa’s glamorous life hide? And can Blessing protect her own heart from danger?

Finding Faith

Single mom Serenity Chandler is determined to do anything to provide better opportunities for her son, Gideon. Moving away from her family support system so Gideon FindingFaithCovercan attend a special school seems like the right choice, even if it means her entire life is about to change.

The satisfaction of helping children and being a part of their lives is one reason Aaron Randall loves his job as a music therapist. When Hope Academy instills a dating policy, he doesn’t give it a second thought. Until the new coworker who’d caught his attention turns out to be the parent of one of his students.

Any relationship between them will put his job at risk. The more time Aaron spends with Serenity and Gideon, the harder it is to ignore what they could have together. With Aaron’s job and Gideon’s education hanging in the balance, they’ll have to rely on faith to find their way.

  1. Can I do two? I’ll assume that answer is yes.
    1. Hope Avalon
    2. Okay, I know part of this name is mine, but there’s a reason for it. My first name is Faith because my parents took a leap of faith in having a baby at the time they did. And one of the meanings (Russian, Slavic, and American) of Nadia is hope. So name idea #2: Nadia Faith.

  2. Valerie Hope

(Valerie means possessing courage, so it fits the title, and hope gives courage. I also like that the “va” in Avalon is echoed in Valerie.)

If you wanted to riff off the father with his royal moniker, she could be:Sarah Valeria
(Princess Valiant, and did you read that comic?) hahah

    • I’m pretty sure I wanted to be Allison Rose when I was a kid.
My best friend and I seriously had a pact – at about the age of 8 – to save up to have our names legally changed to Allison together. 😀 (Of course, we lost interest before that happened, but… )

  4. , I think my worst Halloween memory was the year I &#&0o2;g2t8#8221; to be Casper the Friendly Ghost. The costume consisted of a plastic one piece outfit…. with a tie in the back… which was tight on my 6X chubber body….. and a plastic mask…with a small slit for the mouth and two small holes to breathe out of… WHO ever came up with that time saving idea???????Love the blog and thanks for the trip down memory lane!Sus recently posted..
