From House to Home

Looking for Christian young adult issue-driven fiction?  (Fyi, that’s the kind of stuff I write.)

Along with My Fault, this book by Patricia Bell is also on sale for 99 cents this week!  Grab it up now!  I’m going to pick myself up a copy and read it too.

41u4bqm4ualFor fifteen-year-old Karina Murberry, Life is about to change. When her drug dealing mother lands in jail, she finds herself sleeping on a park bench. What’s a girl to do? Just as she’s resolved herself to the idea of entering a group home full of bully’s and cockroaches, her principal discovers a mysterious emergency contact in her file.
Without any discussion, she is shipped off to a small town away from everyone she’s ever known. And If learning she has an estranged Aunt and Grandmother wasn’t bad enough, Karina must now contend with an Uncle who is younger than her- and not so nice either.
After overhearing a phone conversation between her aunt and grandmother, Karina suspects that her father, the guy her mother said left them stranded when she was two, could be in this very town. Armed with determination, sharp wit, and her new bestie, Amy, they begin an investigation.
After all the lies her mother told her, Karina is on a quest to uncover the truth. Along the way, she uncovers long held secrets, experiences real friendships, and for the first time in her life realizes what it means to go from house to home.

Lawless

There’s a new book out TODAY, on my dear little sister’s birthday, that you have to read!  Disclaimer: I haven’t read it yet, but I got to sit in the room while the author, Janeen Ippolito, brainstormed parts of the main character, and I am excited about it!  Mine arrived in my Kindle app today, so you can read it with me!

The saving of humans and dragons lies within a convicted murderer.

Dragonshifter Kesia Ironfire has one goal—to redeem her past by serving the cruel dragon Pinnacle as a soldier in the dragon-human war.

Then a rogue mission to spy on a new airship explodes into sickening green smoke. The same mysterious green smoke that was present the night of Kesia’s crime. When her dragon overlords deny any involvement, she and her tactical partner Zephryn Nightstalker try to investigate–and are sentenced to death.

Still searching for answers, Kesia and Zephryn flee to the human military capital, where Captain Shance Windkeeper has been furloughed after the destruction of his airship. Eager to discover what–and who–blew up his vessel, he agrees to help Kesia and Zephryn infiltrate High Command. In exchange, Kesia must pretend to be his betrothed so Shance can escape an arranged marriage. If only she knew what ‘betrothed’ and ‘arranged marriage’ meant.

But human social customs are the least of her worries. Dark secrets surface as Kesia delves deeper–secrets that challenge the facts of her crime and undermine the war itself.

A steampunk fantasy adventure with a side of quirky romance and snark.

Steampunk with dragon-human shifters–that concept was all it took for me to fall in love with Lawless in the first chapter. What made me stay in love were the characters, each with an intriguing history, and the rich story world, filled with original magic and mechanics. Looking forward to experiencing more of this series!

Angel-Lover for $4.00! And Two Others Available on Kindle

My novels are now all available on Amazon!  And Angel-Lover’s new cover is ready.  😀

Click here to see my Amazon.com author page, and check out my info and bookshelf.

My first novel, Dashwood Avenue, was published July, 2006 – 8 1/2 years ago!

Here is a blurb: It is 1953 and life for Kiralee Nottingham is dull, boring, and completely lacking in excitement. You dashwoodcan’t get a much smaller, quaint, seaside town than Upper-Chern, South Carolina. No one moves in or out and summer renters are a rare treat. The only kids Kiralee’s age are an obnoxious group that visit every summer. The oldest, George, is Kiralee’s personal irritant. Then, the elusive Slater family moves in. At first it appears they are the friends Kiralee dreamed about, but everything is not as it seems. With them come mystery, trouble, and adventure and Kiralee finds herself right in the middle of it! All the while, Kiralee is growing from awkward tomboy to young lady and George is leaving his old life as a spoiled rich boy to become an ally and friend.

You can now find Dashwood Avenue in paperback from on Amazon.com, and also for Kindle. (Appropriate for age 8+)

My second little sci-fi short story, The Hero of the Wars of Mougle (appropriate for age 10+) is now on Amazon Kindle as well – or in paperback form on Lulu.com.

Blurb: The distant planet of Mougle, inhabited by a creature made entirely out of a dust-like substance, has been at war for many dustquakes. Generational tradition of hatred and animosity runs deep, and it’s up to one general, with the help of a tragic secret, a sincere love, and a mysteriously compassionate friend, to lead his planet to the biggest battle of all.

And lastly, if you’d like to order a print version of Angel-Lover (appropriate for age 16+), it’s ready with a new cover and back.  The back features Chad’s special angel drawing, so it’s a fun copy to have.

It’s also, for the next two weeks (until January 24, 2015), available for only $4.00!  2DYou save 60%!

This is a special promotion to celebrate the new cover.

It’s also on Amazon Kindle for $0.99 – and you can read it on any digital device, like even a laptop.

Blurb: Chad is a reclusive teenager whose thoughts are full of loneliness and suicide. The only thing that he obsesses over more than planning his own death is the nicest, sweetest, most beautiful girl in school. As he stalks her and watches her, he learns the truth about what she believes in and, in the process, finds someone else he did not expect.

Happy reading and thank you for your support!  God bless all of you!
